Mothers Day

BEVERLEY CLAIRE CO. honours all mothers and the sacrifices they make. Mothers need to feel beautiful and even although essential items & food parcels are most needed during this time, sometimes it’s nice to look and smell wonderful too, to escape the psychological ‘scent’ of lockdown. In line with the theme of minimizing indulgent consumerism BEVERLEY CLAIRE CO. collected items that could be re-used/recycled:old coffee & Nutella glass jars, high-heeled shoes hardly worn, but carrying the poise & confidence of a woman gone before and teddy bears stuffed with love & laughter from children yonder ago. What was not re-used /recycled were the beautiful fine fragrance oils used to make up a pocket size 3-in-1 body spray/hand sanitizer/antiseptic spritzer with chloroxylenol, perfect for mums on the go with children’s injuries. Also not recycled/re-used were the cosmetic products distributed to the women-as women are worthy of the very best luxuries. In this little township where churches remain closed on #lockdown Sunday, a pastor opens his doors to preach the message of hope via speakers. We went there to deliver ‘parcels of prettiness’ to the mothers on Mother’s Day, but instead we found more prettiness imaginable-in this little place of poverty, yet so rich in fierce, motherly love.
